Spring, Serbia 1999. Eight-year-old Sava and his mother live in a high-rise building in Belgrade. My father is away, working on a cargo ship sailing the world's oceans.
This relatively normal life is disrupted by the beginning of the bombing of Serbia. Air raids also begin in a general atmosphere of tension, disbelief, and despair. Savina's school is closed, the shelter becomes his second home, and Milica, the daughter of the local priest whom the boy is in love with, leaves the country. Savino's behavior is changing.
