The series begins when the main character, a young inspector in the Belgrade police named Aleksandar Jakovljević, despite his problematic behavior, is assigned an important case—the only daughter of a respected man whose company is building the largest residential and commercial complex in the region has been murdered.
The investigation is also heading in that direction, but Aleksandar, despite being torn by his own problems, leaves nothing to chance and digs into every aspect of the murdered girl's life, unaware of the danger he is exposing himself to, because someone wants this murder covered up as quickly as possible. Aleksandra is also tormented by personal pain over the never-solved murder of his father, Mileta, who was also a police inspector. When he discovers that both murders might be connected, solving the young girl's murder becomes a mission for him.
He won't know who to trust on that journey, whether it's his boss and the best friend of his late father, Police Chief Marjanović, his colleague Mirko, or the two women in his life, Marija, the public prosecutor he's in a relationship with, until young forensic scientist Jelena steals his heart.
