After spending years as a traveling street performer, playing a motionless sculpture, Lazar found himself on a small Mediterranean island. Lazar experiences a longing to return home, but his departure from the island is complicated by his inability to communicate with the island administration. We are following the tedious collection of documentation that should enable his departure. Meetings with officials are becoming stranger and more incomprehensible. Their questions go beyond the administrative and delve into the most intimate parts of Lazarus's life.
Claustrophobically trapped in a distorted Kafkaesque reality, Lazar goes from one official to another on the island, patiently answering questions and fulfilling their demands, all while carrying a heavy black box containing his complete documentation. The tedious task of collecting documentation evolves into a questioning of the meaning of life, of deep secrets hidden from oneself.
This semantically displaced story reminds us that responsibility stems from the existential fact that life is a chain of questions to which a person must respond, thereby becoming responsible for themselves and others. by deciding which answer to give to each individual question, as well as by the fact that there is only one answer to each question - the true one...
