The Working Class Goes to Hell is a Serbian film from 2023, based on a screenplay and directed by Mladen Đorđević.
This is the story of a small and dying town in Serbia. The factory where people from all over the city and surrounding villages once worked is closed. Led by the mysterious Elijah, a group of former factory workers in their despair turn to pagan rituals and summon the devil to avenge themselves on their exploiters.
The film had its world premiere in the official program of the Toronto International Film Festival in September 2023. The domestic premiere was held on the 24th of February, 2024, at the 52nd Festus.
